Due to an unexpected medical issue that necessitated emergency surgery, Bindi Irwin was unable to attend her late father’s gala.
The late Steve Irwin’s 26-year-old daughter was scheduled to attend her father’s yearly fundraiser in Las Vegas on Saturday.
But her brother Robert disclosed that she was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital following an appendix rupture.
“She’s going to be OK, but surgery — out of all the things we were ready for, that was not one of them,” Robert stated to PEOPLE.
He pointed out that their mother Terri missed the occasion as well because she was at the hospital with Bindi during the emergency surgery.
