Bindi, the daughter of Steve Irwin, is taken to the hospital for urgent surgery.

After being taken to the hospital for emergency surgery, Bindi Irwin was unable to attend a significant memorial service for her late father, Steve Irwin.

On Saturday, May 10, the 26-year-old TV personality and conservationist was scheduled to attend the annual

Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas. However, her plans were drastically altered when she unexpectedly ended herself in the hospital.

At the occasion, her brother Robert Irwin broke the news to PEOPLE, stating that his sister had an unplanned procedure a few hours prior to the gala.

Robert, 21, told the source, “She’s going to be okay, but surgery – out of all the things we were ready for, that was not one of them.” Their mother, Terri Irwin, 60, also skipped the event to be by Bindi’s side.

Robert remarked, “She just recovered from endometriosis, and now the appendix goes.” “Health is really very important.”
