Starting out as a stand-up comic in the ’50s, Newhart went on to star in two smash popular comedies, Newhart (1982–1990) and The Bob Newhart Show (1972–1978), both of which starred Robert Hartley.
Elf was Newhart’s favorite part to perform during his legendary seventy-year career, he revealed in one of his last interviews in November 2023.
