Activist’s Past Raises Concerns About Public Influence
Mack, 35, is a recognizable figure in left-wing activism and gained national visibility during the 2020 George Floyd protests, where he played a prominent role in Black Lives Matter demonstrations.
In 2022, Mack appeared in a promotional campaign for English Premier League soccer club Arsenal, alongside midfielder Martin Ødegaard, to launch the club’s away jersey.
Following the news of his arrest, Arsenal has removed the content featuring Mack from its website and social media.
Chris Hansen Details Operation on National TV
During an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters Primetime, Hansen provided further insight into the sting.
“Aston Mack, BLM activist and former youth mentor in Orlando, claimed he was trying to help this girl by having the human trafficking hotline number in his pocket,” Hansen said.
“But the messages obtained through our investigation tell a very different story,” he added, noting that digital communications contradicted Mack’s explanation.
Crazy thing I just found, turns out this Aston Mack guy is a huge Arsenal fan. He’s done content with the official club and was on AFTV during the USA tour 3 years ago. From what I can tell, Arsenal wiped all mentions of him from their sites but the links are still there. https://t.co/kJcOUjoNAu pic.twitter.com/IJNo0fjiha
