By displaying confidence in bikinis and swimsuits, a queer body-positive model dispels the stigma associated with plus sizes.

Ady, who was born in 1987 to a Puerto Rican family in Boston, was up surrounded by the fashion industry and saw catwalk presentations and model interviews from a distance.

When an independent designer asked them to walk the catwalk at New York Fashion Week in 2016, it was their big break.

Ady was first apprehensive, but with support from friends and family, she seized the chance. Before long, they were walking the catwalk with fellow XXXL models in a repurposed church in New York.

Ady, however, is much more than just a compelling model. Their goal is to inspire greater social change, which goes beyond individual achievement.

Ady challenges us to consider deeply rooted prejudices around body image and beauty standards via their campaigning and imagery.
