Bystanders Provide “Street Justice” After a Man Allegedly Stole a Car With Three Children

A 54-year-old Philadelphia man allegedly took off in a car with three small children inside while their mother briefly stepped away. Concerned bystanders intervened and restrained the individual until authorities arrived.

When a mother stepped into a Philadelphia pizzeria, she was shocked to discover that her car — with her three children still inside — was being driven away by.

A stranger. Authorities said the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of North Philadelphia.

According to a statement provided to BuzzFeed News, the woman had left her gray Hyundai running outside the restaurant.

While she spoke briefly with the father of two of the children. That’s when, police say, a man later identified as 54-year-old Eric Hood entered.

 

The incorrect guy was chosen by an armed suspect to carjack. The carjacker was unaware that the driver was not your typical victim, and things swiftly changed as the suspect dragged him from his car.
