Bystanders Provide “Street Justice” After a Man Allegedly Stole a Car With Three Children

 

The vehicle and drove away with the children, who were between the ages of 7 months and 5 years. Fortunately, traffic congestion just half a block away allowed the parents to catch up.

The children’s father was able to stop the vehicle and remove Hood from the driver’s seat. Police say a group of nearby individuals joined in to assist.

“We’re being told that other individuals in the area helped the father during this confrontation, and a struggle followed,” Chief Inspector Scott Small told NBC Philadelphia.

After the initial confrontation, Hood reportedly fled on foot but was soon stopped by several members of the public who restrained him until police arrived.

“The crowd brought Mr. Hood to the ground and held him there,” explained Philadelphia Police Captain Jason Smith. “He was detained by the group until emergency responders reached.

 

The incorrect guy was chosen by an armed suspect to carjack. The carjacker was unaware that the driver was not your typical victim, and things swiftly changed as the suspect dragged him from his car.
