Sergei Prichinich, a Russian circus trainer, is fortunate to be alive when Donut, his almost 500-pound bear costar, went into full assault mode during a recent live performance.
A brown bear is riding a hoverboard next to her trainer in an enclosure as Sergei and Donut amuse a group of parents and kids in a video that is becoming viral on the internet.
Soon after, the deed goes terribly wrong. To the astonishment of the onlookers, Donut leaps off the hoverboard and rushes for Sergei,
tackling and pinning him to the ground for more than a minute while ferociously wagging its head back and forth while Prichinich coolly defends himself with a baton.
Using a long stick, an employee outside the cage intervenes and repeatedly pokes Donut, diverting the female bear long enough for Sergei to recover his balance.
