Clive Myrie, a BBC announcer, neglected to disclose events valued up to £250,000.

“To ensure that this doesn’t happen again, I’ve informed the BBC that, except from a few prior obligations.

I won’t be participating in any further paid external events in the near future. Sincerely, I apologize. Regards, Clive.

With a salary of £315,000 for his BBC news position and an unknown amount for hosting Mastermind, Myrie is among the highest-paid broadcasters at the BBC.

The incidents he neglected to disclose span from July 2024 to the first quarter of 2021, when the register was established in an attempt to improve openness around the pay of BBC broadcasters.

It wasn’t until a Sunday Times article highlighted a few of those incidents that Myrie revealed them. “Strong management action has been implemented.”

Several occurrences that were not reported to the register in earlier quarters have been released retroactively today, according to the BBC.
