The BBC’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of impartiality across the organization is reflected in the External Events Register.
Those who have not followed the proper procedure have been informed of their obligations concerning the register.
“Strong management action has been taken in cases where there has been serious non-compliance.
“To include precise wording on the number of paid external events that people will be allowed to participate in, we will be releasing an update to our present standards.
“Disciplinary action may result from violations of the process, as outlined in the current guidelines.” Instead of listing specific fees.
The BBC’s external events registry puts them into three bands: £1,000–£5,000, £5,000–£10,000, and above £10,000.
