Days before he was re-elected to the White House, President-elect Donald Trump made a pledge to make confidential US government papers public.
Trump, 78, will return to Washington, DC, after he easily defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 US presidential election, which had been described as too close to call.
It became clear within hours of the polls closing that Harris had not been able to mobilize the necessary number of people to advance from the vice presidency to the president.
In contrast, Trump is expected to win the popular vote, becoming the first Republican to do so since George W. Bush in 2004.
In an attempt to persuade swing voters who were still on the fence, Trump, like Harris, met with a variety of conventional and new format news sources before to the election.
