During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning in July of last year, he disclosed that he still believed there was an additional objective he needed to accomplish.
“I aspire to produce a high-quality piece of work.” He expressed his frustration to CBS presenter Ben Mankiewicz, stating, “I would love to do a real character thing.”
“I am unable to relax.” Working is enjoyable to me. I derive immense pleasure from collaborating with individuals of high character.
I derive greater enjoyment from my work, and I frequently find myself laughing. Additionally, I occasionally receive respect.
Caan continued to work until his death, most recently appearing in the comedy Queen Bees last year.
