The building of the expansive, 400-acre Muslim community known as “EPIC City” (East Plano Islamic Center) has been halted by Texas.

The former president of UIF Corporation is also a co-founder of the Yaken Institute for Islamic studies, which is adamantly pro-Sharia. The initiative, however, refutes such claims.
To be clear, Texas does not permit Sharia law. Sharia cities aren’t either. Additionally, these are not “no go zones,” as this initiative appears to suggest.
