Dead bodies of a couple washed up on island coast after they had been gone for 30 days

The bodies of a couple who drowned while attempting to cross the Atlantic on a yacht have been recovered by members of the lifeboat community.

According to BBC News, 54-year-old Sarah Packwood and 70-year-old Brett Clibbery vanished while on a trip on their wind and solar-powered boat, Theros.

The pair had set off from Nova Scotia on June 11 with the goal of reaching the Azores, a series of islands about 900 miles west of Portugal, by July 2, but they were reported missing one week later.

It is said that Packwood and Clibbery sadly drowned at sea after abandoning their yacht in favor of a lifeboat.

A Facebook post by James Clibbery, the son of Clibbery, verified their deaths and described the previous few days as “very hard.”
