Saturday, at the age of 53, the famous radio broadcaster, podcaster, and DJ Tammie Holland passed away from colon cancer.
The experienced St. Louis broadcaster, who was nominated for an Emmy, was a prominent figure on “The Real Breakfast Crew,” the first all-black female radio program on FOXY 106.9 FM.
She was an innovator for black women in radio and the presenter of the popular podcast “This Week with Tammie Holland.”
The actress and comedian initially learned she had colon cancer in 2021 and was quite public about her fight at the time.
After her stage IV colon cancer advanced to her lungs and brain, Holland stated on-air a few weeks before she passed away that she would be receiving hospice care.
