It has been revealed that the lady at the center of a contentious performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic opening ceremony is a DJ, producer, and self-described “love activist” named Barbara Butch.
A few Christians openly expressed their unease with the performance, which was a spoof of the biblical story of Jesus Christ and his twelve disciples having their final lunch together before being crucified.
Some accused the organizers of making a ‘woke’ spoof of the famous Leonardo da Vinci painting based on the creative version, which featured a transgender model, a troop of drag queens, and French actor and singer Phillippe Katerine.
The scenario had models, dancers, fashion celebrities, and drag queens from the host country gathered around a table that served as a catwalk on a bridge that over the capital’s river.
Several drag queens, as well as hundreds of dancers and performers, encircled Barbara, who stood in front of her DJ equipment wearing a fitted blue and silver costume with a crown shaped like a halo.
