Do You Recall This? Rendition of the Pledge of Allegiance by Red Skelton

American comic Richard Red Skelton went by the stage name Red Skelton. Between 1937 and 1971, he was most recognized for his nationwide radio and television appearances, particularly as the presenter of The Red Skelton Show.

When Skelton joined a traveling medicine show at the age of ten, he started honing his comedy and pantomime abilities.

After doing the burlesque circuit and being a showboat for a while, he went into vaudeville in 1934.

His performance of the Pledge of Allegiance is one of the skits that has a strong emotional impact on viewers.

Most likely because what he fears actually occurs in our schools. Do you recall this?
