In late 2016, officials in St. Louis arrested 27-year-old Cedric Powe, a native of St. Charles, Missouri, in connection with the alleged beating of his then-girlfriend, who was 20 years old.
Cedric Powe hit, kicked, and choked Chelsea Simmons during the beatings and attempted suicide in 2015.
In 2012, Chelsea’s father became so incensed about the incident that he offered a $500 reward for any information on Cedric Powe. Chelsea was left permanently blind in her left eye.
In December 2013, Chelsea was again abducted, and Cedric asked that her family pay a financial ransom to ensure her safe return during the holidays.
