Shortly after Pope Francis passed away early on Monday, April 21 at the age of 88, Trump initially said that he and Melania, 55, would be attending the pope’s burial.

“Melania and I will be going to the funeral of Pope Francis, in Rome,” Trump said in a Truth Social post on April 21. “We look forward to being there!”

Trump also wrote on Truth Social, “Rest in Peace, Pope Francis!,” before to announcing that he would be attending the burial rituals. God bless him and everyone who cared for him.
