The president has now proposed that the US pay other nations a “small fee” to hold American prisoners, demonstrating that he has no intention of slowing down his radical reform.
The president made the claim that the nation may banish and send out habitual criminals as a cost-cutting strategy yesterday (January 27) at a House Republicans meeting in Miami.
According to NBC News, Trump clarified: “I want them out of our nation if they have been arrested a lot and are repeat criminals by a large percentage.
“We’re going to get approval, hopefully, to get them the hell out of our country, along with others – let them be brought to a foreign land and maintained by others for a very small fee.”
He said that by doing this, the federal government would be able to avoid paying “massive amounts of money” to private prisons that “charge us a fortune” and utilize US facilities.
According to the president, the plan is distinct from another comparable plan to deport illegal immigrants who are said to have criminal histories.
