Donald Trump Speaks Out Following Joe Biden’s ‘Aggressive’ Cancer Diagnosis

Shortly after the news broke, former President Donald Trump, Biden’s 2020 election opponent and 47th President of the United States, posted a response on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis,” Trump wrote.

“We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”

Biden’s Health and Public Concerns

Biden’s health has long been a topic of public interest and political scrutiny, especially as the oldest individual to serve as U.S. President.

During his presidency, medical checkups revealed other conditions, including the removal of a basal cell carcinoma from his chest in February 2023 and a benign but possibly pre-cancerous polyp from his colon in 2021.

This recent diagnosis follows increased speculation about his fitness for office, particularly after a lackluster performance during a nationally televised debate with Trump.

That debate led to renewed concerns about his cognitive health, which the White House addressed at the time, denying any signs of Alzheimer’s.

In November 2021, he had a polyp removed from his colon that was a benign, but potentially pre-cancerous, lesion. According to the American Cancer Society, about one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime and it stands as the second-leading cause of cancer death in men, behind lung cancer. The disease kills around one in 44 men, though most who are diagnosed do not die from it.
