Former Secretary of State John Kerry, Democratic Governor of Washington James Inslee, and Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts were among the other speakers.
Speaking about a time when he was in the White House and the vice president told him “how excited she was” about climate concerns, Inslee added, “Kamala Harris really gets this” subject.
The campaign’s acting director of Climate Voters, Jake Schwartz, said, “Harris-Walz is a proud climate ticket.”
Addressing the Trump-Vance ticket, several speakers said they “cater to polluters” and want to “roll back America’s freedoms.”
In a newly rediscovered video, Harris—a lifelong advocate of climate change—said that the reason why young people are delaying starting families or purchasing houses is “climate anxiety.”
