He noted that it is too soon to say since the probe is still in its early phases.
Honea said that after hitting two youngsters, ages five and six, the shooter turned the pistol on himself, seemingly committing suicide.
He said that the youngsters were taken to a nearby hospital by paramedics. During the press conference, he said, “The medical staff is treating them; they are currently in extremely critical condition.”
“They have a long journey ahead of them, and while I’m grateful they’re still with us, I sincerely hope you’ll keep them in your prayers and thoughts as we proceed.”
According to Honea, the individual interacted with the school in a “cordial” manner and showed no warning signs.
