Ellen Degeneres sells the Montecito estate, moves to England, and declares, “I will never return to America.”

 

Ellen, however, seems to have made a conscious choice to separate herself from the American celebrity society in which she previously flourished by leaving the Montecito neighborhood.

Ellen’s departure indicates her increasing dissatisfaction with the United States and goes beyond just leaving behind a house.

Ellen explained her reasons in an open address to the media: “I no longer feel like I belong in America.”

Both politically and socially, the atmosphere has become too poisonous. I need a quiet space where I can think, breathe, and find my identity.

This view is similar to that of many well-known people who have fled to other countries in recent years because of polarizing political environments and intense media attention.
