Employees at the agency that manages Tesla Inc. are laid off by Musk’s cost-cutting DOGE.

“NHTSA is still significantly larger today than it was four years ago, even with these modest efficiencies,” the statement said.

“We have held onto positions that are essential to our mission of preventing injuries, saving lives, and lowering the financial costs associated with traffic accidents.”

Based in Austin, the firm runs a manufacturing that produces the Model Y and Cybertruck while also working on battery technology.
