A requirement that Tesla has criticized and that watchdogs fear could be removed by the Trump administration. This is in addition to investigations into Tesla’s partially automated vehicles.

In its statement, it pointed out that the Biden administration had increased its salary, implying that the smaller workforce was enough to fulfill its mandate.
“NHTSA is still significantly larger today than it was four years ago, even with these modest efficiencies,” the statement said.
“We have held onto positions that are essential to our mission of preventing injuries, saving lives, and lowering the financial costs associated with traffic accidents.”
Based in Austin, the firm runs a manufacturing that produces the Model Y and Cybertruck while also working on battery technology.
