According to local media, the man was taken to the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, the nation’s second-largest reserve, where he was brutally murdered.
Evidently dissatisfied with the penalty he had been given for his offense, the gathering of villagers took him to mob justice, which supposedly involved burning him alive.
The Foreign Office is reportedly trying to identify the individual who was killed by the mob. He was taken into custody on suspicion of shooting and killing his longtime buddy and business associate.
