The rumors began with a Facebook group called “New England Serial Killer,” which had over 65,000 members before its name had to be altered because of social media rules and regulations.
Since then, several organizations have emerged. One of them has warned of “sinister shadows lurking in the Southern New England tri-state area,” stating that the group is “gripped by fear and uncertainty.”
