The issue of suicide among law enforcement personnel has grown in the last few years. After suffering not one, but two losses, a Florida family is tragically discovering out how to go on.
Both Victoria Pacheco and Clayton Osteen were deputies with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. Clayton was just 24 years old.
And had served in the US Marine Corps. After attempted suicide on New Year’s Eve, he was admitted to the hospital.
The former SWAT team member, who was born in Florida, was removed off life support two days later. Victoria, who was twenty-three, too committed herself two days later.
She was well-known for being an ardent artist outside of her career in police enforcement. With the birth of their son Jayce just a month before their deaths, the couple seemed to be happy than ever.
