It could have been, though, as the man who was compelled to withdraw from the race for a second term—mostly because of an appalling performance at the first presidential debate—didn’t even begin to address the Democratic National Convention until after 10 PM in Chicago.
As anticipated, Biden’s speech on the opening night of the Democratic National Convention was a biting critique of Donald Trump, a resounding supporter of his running mate, Vermont senator Kamala Harris, and, of course, his farewell to American politics.
However, the Democrats packed the United Center stage with speaker after speaker before Biden could start his main event speech, which was scheduled to start at roughly 10:15 PM CT.
