The destiny of a Louisiana woman who was convicted of killing her boyfriend’s 6-year-old daughter, whose body was discovered in a plastic bucket in the child’s mother’s front yard, was revealed.
Bella Fontenelle, age six, was murdered in the first degree by Bunnak “Hannah” Landon, who was given a life sentence without the chance of release.
According to reports, she was also sentenced to 80 years in prison for obstructing justice.
She pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and was found guilty of both offenses earlier this month; the sentencing follows her plea.
According to the district attorney, “Her lawyers argued she could not be held legally responsible for Bella’s death because a mental defect prevented her from distinguishing right from wrong.”
