“We are proud to share that Karmelo Anthony will graduate and receive his high school diploma, and that his academic achievements will not be disrupted.”
Said Minister Dominique Alexander, NGAN president, in a statement to CBS News. Alexander emphasized the importance of preserving Anthony’s educational rights.
Describing the resolution as a “moment of dignity” achieved through collaboration between NGAN, Anthony’s legal team, and the school district.
Metcalf, however, has filed a formal complaint with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and expressed frustration at being denied a meeting with Superintendent Mike Waldrip.
“I’ve been stonewalled,” Metcalf said in an interview with CBS News Texas. “They said I had to make an appointment, which I did.”
