“I know as a successful negotiator he likes to keep people off balance,” Trudeau said in a January speech, according to BBC News. It won’t happen in the 51st state.
Additionally, Mark Carney, the recently elected prime minister, expressed similar views in a harsh letter to Trump.
“As I’ve been warning for months, America wants our land, our resources, our water, our country — never,” Carney said.
“However, President Trump is attempting to shatter us so that America can own us; these threats are not inane. There is no way that will ever occur. However, we also have to acknowledge that our environment has undergone significant transformation.
Now, in a rather tumultuous interview with ABC News reporter Terry Moran on his 100th day in office, Trump claimed that the reporter wasn’t “being nice” to him.
Moran questioned Trump on his feelings about being a “big issue” in the most recent Canadian election and on their outrage over his proposal to make Canada the 51st state.
