Former Royal Marine, 42, given 12 months to live after believing he was dehydrated.

After thinking he was dehydrated or having a migraine, medics informed an ex-Royal Marine he had 12-18 months to live.

In May, 42-year-old James Greenwood, who lives in North Wales with his fiancĂ©e, began having ‘continuous’ headaches and dizziness.

After visiting his GP twice in two weeks, he was told his symptoms suggested dehydration or eye problems from working at screens as a JLL facilities manager.

However, it was more severe, and James attributed his determination throughout his health struggle to his Marine Corps service and ‘commando training’, which prepared him for whatever problems he ‘had to handle in life’.

James complained of dizziness during a discussion with his brother-in-law on 24 May and booked an appointment with his GP in early June, saying he ‘had always had a clean bill of health’.
