Peterson recounted, “I heard my dog run outside and I heard a gunshot after I heard my back door get kicked in.”
At this point, the four criminals ought to have turned and fled, but Shawn King, the group’s “alpha male,” attempted to shoot Peterson and his girlfriend by forcing his gun through the bedroom door.
The next thing I knew, a man with a gun was waiting for me at my door and had inserted the weapon.
According to Click Orlando, Peterson stated, “I slammed the door and the gun just started going off.” At this point, the irate pair reversed the bold intruders.
The four house intruders were completely mistaken to think that their potential victims would confront them with equal vigor. I screamed at my girlfriend as she was in the closet.
“Throw me my shotgun,” I said. Like in the movies, she threw the shotgun at me, and I caught it, fired once, and I suppose it struck the man in the chest or something,” Peterson remarked.
