Dallas — Police say the suspect in Tuesday’s shooting at Dallas’ Wilmer-Hutchins High School was taken into custody a few hours after four students were hurt.
On Tuesday night, the Dallas Independent School District issued a news release announcing the arrest. No other information was given.
Multiple sources informed ABC News that preliminary evidence suggested the shooting was student-on-student violence rather than an active shooter scenario.
Christina Smith, assistant chief of police for the Dallas ISD Police Department, said the four injured children were taken to local hospitals but did not elaborate on their statuses.
Officials stated they had identified the alleged shooter but had not yet made an arrest during a press briefing earlier Tuesday.
