According to Brunson, she had an earlier dream of hosting Saturday Night Live, but the audition process was too lengthy.
Instead, she decided to launch her own TV program, which she went on to make a smashing success and earn several Emmys. “Really, really, really easy.”
What followed was Brunson’s dissection of Abbott Elementary, during which she launched an attack against Friends.
She went on to remark, “It’s a network sitcom like, say, Friends.” However, this time around, the focus is on a group of educators rather than a group of students. “Without Black people, it’s in Philadelphia, and instead of New York, it’s in Philadelphia.”
