Gabby Logan cut off broadcast of the Great North Run to make a heartbreaking BBC announcement.

Gabby Logan announced the untimely passing of a former participant during the Great North Run broadcast. The 51-year-old TV host was at Tyneside on Sunday,

September 8, for the live broadcast of the race, after her hosting of the Olympics.  The BBC opened the presentation with a montage of moments from the previous 43 years,

including Claire Lomas, who passed away in the Middle East last month at the age of 44, and Mo Farah’s last Great North Run.

Claire had a horse riding accident 17 years ago that left her paralyzed from the chest down. She had life-altering disabilities, yet in 2016 she ran the Great North Run wearing a bionic suit.

According to her relatives, the activist who amassed around £1 million for charity apparently passed away on August 22 after an accident in Jordan, Middle East.
