Gena Rowlands, the star of “Notebook,” has passed away at the age of 94.

 

Nick stated at that time that Gena had been afflicted with Alzheimer’s for five years and was experiencing “full dementia.”

Gena, the daughter of actress Lady Rowlands, who was also diagnosed with Alzheimer’s prior to her passing,

retired from Hollywood in 2015 after receiving four Emmy awards, two Golden Globes, and two Oscar nominations.

She collaborated with her first spouse, filmmaker John Cassavetes, on numerous occasions, such as “Gloria” and “A Woman Under the Influence.”

Robert, to whom she has been married since 2012, and her three children, Alexandra, Zoe, and Nick Cassavetes, survive Gena.
