German police claim to have discovered proof of Madeleine McCann’s death on a hard drive.

A significant development about a hard drive in the Madeleine McCann investigation has been released by German police. In May 2007, Madeleine, then three years old, vanished from her hotel.

In Praia da Luz, Lagos, Portugal. Madeleine and her two-year-old twin brothers were left alone in their hotel room while their parents, Gerry and Kate, were out dining with some friends.

When Kate McCann realized her eldest daughter was gone, she periodically returned to see how her kids were doing. After she contacted the police, a global quest for the three-year-old started.

“The most heavily reported missing-person case in modern history” is how some have characterized the case since then.

Last year, the McCanns provided an update on the 17th anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance: It said, “Madeline was taken from us 17 years ago.”

Even mentioning that figure makes us shake our heads in shock. Even if we are now lucky enough to have a very regular and joyful life,
