For a training camp, the kids went to Wichita with their instructor, 46-year-old Alexandr “Sasha” Kirsanov.
Natalya Gudin, the coach’s wife, who claimed to often accompany them on their vacations, broke down in tears while discussing the three people’s deaths.
“Whenever we travel to a competition, we always fly with American Airlines,” she told Delaware Online.
“They don’t have me this time, and they’re all gone,” she said. She described the young kids as “amazing,” with promising careers in ice skating.
“Sean Kay and Angela Yang, this young team, were so amazing,” Gudin said. “The judges had a bright future and were all quite proud.
