On September 3, 2023, Johnson, a single woman, was discovered dead in her Augusta, Kansas, house.
Authorities have not provided many specifics of how she passed away, however the victim’s family has said that “the murder was brutal and punishment should be severe.”
Two 14-year-old girls were detained and accused with killing Johnson in August 2024; as they are minors,
their identities have not been made public. The two suspects are also from Augusta, just like the victim.
Following the arrest, a man claiming to be one of the kids’ fathers talked with KAKE, the local news station,
over the phone. He allegedly told the outlet that he sat with his daughter as police questioned her about the murder.
