Jeffries sidestepped the inquiry on Monday on whether Democrats should keep sending members to El Salvador to lobby for Garcia and others, saying.
“Our reaction is that Donald Trump has the lowest approval rating of any president in modern American history.”
Recently visiting El Salvador were Representatives Robert Garcia (D-CA), Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ), and Maxine Dexter (D-OR).
Following a Supreme Court ruling on April 10, the Trump government was obliged by law to help Garcia, whose expulsion was contested on procedural grounds, return.
