Harris presents strategies to address the expense of child care, food, housing, and medication in the speech

Vice President Kamala Harris announced her ideas to address the cost of housing and food, reduce the cost of prescription drugs, and increase the child tax credit during a campaign speech on Friday in North Carolina.

She also pledged to “make it a top priority to bring down costs” if elected president. Given the state of the economy that previous President Donald Trump left behind,

Harris acknowledged that the Biden administration had made progress, but said that it is insufficient since “many Americans do not yet feel that progress in their daily lives.”

“Costs remain too expensive. Deeper down, too many individuals find it really difficult to just be able to go forward,

regardless of how hard they work,” she said to the assembly. “As president, I would address the high expenses that the majority of Americans find most important,

such as the price of food. As our supply networks faltered and shut down during the epidemic, as everyone knows, prices increased. Despite this, prices are still too high.
