The International Olympic Committee let Khelif to compete in the women’s division despite the fact that the International Boxing Association and the World Boxing Organization had determined that she was biologically male.
For Khelif, the criticism “adds a special taste” to his accomplishment, he said in response. “We are in the Olympics to perform as athletes, and
I hope that we will not see any similar attacks in future Olympics.” Earlier, Khelif had leveled accusations of a “conspiracy” against Algeria in response to the criticism.
“People have conspired against Algeria so that its flag doesn’t get raised, and it doesn’t win the gold medal,” stated the fighter.
Algerian women’s boxing has never before won a gold medal. Famous novelist J.K. Rowling was among many who were fiercely critical of the gender scandal.
