Kate Jones had no idea what a nightmare would greet her on the morning of January 16, 2024.
Her children, Skylar, 14, Gaige, 10, and Allyson, 12, were all at home for a day off from school on a snowy day in Perryville, Maryland.
Kate had just departed for work at approximately 10 a.m. She was a truck driver who put in long hours.
She believed that her two eldest children were still asleep at the moment, oblivious to the destruction that would occur a few hours later.
Unable to wake the kids
Everything had seemed regular the previous evening. Kate had colored and watched a movie with her son Gaige that evening.
