Brian had passed away by the time Devin got to the hospital. On April 22, Brooklyn was removed off life support after being placed on it at Children’s Hospital.
Devin described her daughter’s injuries as follows: “Her helmet was on the entire time, but because of how she was hit, there was catastrophic swelling in her brain.”
Before Brooklyn passed away, Devin told CBS Colorado, “We’re working with Donor Alliance, and they’re working to find people that she can help, and we will be taking her off of life support.
In the next 24 hours.” Two daughters are left behind after a couple dies in a motorcycle crash: “They would do anything for each other.”
The young driver, whose identity has not been made public, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving recklessly and causing death. Since then, he has been free. There is an inquiry going on.
