The IOC deprived the IBA of their status shortly after the event due to governance issues and alleged malfeasance.
The IOC issued a statement in which it criticized the’misleading information about two female athletes’ and asserted that
“every person has the right to practice sport without discrimination.” ‘The IOC is deeply disheartened by the harassment that the two athletes are currently experiencing.
