‘If people want to cast a trans person,’ Elliot Page told Hollywood.

When it comes to trans performers and characters in Hollywood, Elliot Page has made his feelings known.

In 2020, Page, 37, came out as a trans man. His character on Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy similarly transitioned on screen to represent his gender.

Page soared to popularity with cinema performances like as Juno and X-Men: The Last Stand. Page has authored a best-selling book, Pageboy, detailing their mental health and struggle to accept their identity.

They have also made history as the first trans guy to appear on the cover of TIME magazine. Page and his co-star Emmy Raver Lampman spoke with Extra

TV about the series before the last season of The Umbrella Academy aired later this month. In the conversation, Page spoke up about how important it was for the program to accept him for who he is.
