Not only did Watson, but other Harry Potter celebrities also came out with heartfelt tributes in the wake of the tragic news.
In a statement to Variety, Daniel Radcliffe, who portrayed Harry Potter throughout the whole series, said,
“I was nine years old when I first met Maggie Smith, and we were going over passages for David Copperfield, which was my first job.
“My parents were amazed that I would be working with her, but that was about all the information I knew about her.
“The first question I asked her when we met was, ‘Would you like me to call you Dame?'” This was because I also knew that she was a Dame.
She chuckled and said, “Don’t be ridiculous!” at that point. “I recall being anxious when I first met her, but she quickly put me at ease.
