Following a judge’s decision on Monday, the 17-year-old who was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenager at a Frisco track meet earlier.
This month has had his bail lowered and will now be placed under home arrest. Karmelo Anthony’s bail was lowered from $1 million to $250,000 by a Collin County court.
If his parents are able to post bail, Anthony will also have to wear an ankle monitor and remain inside their house.
Since his arrest on April 2 for allegedly stabbing and murdering 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a Frisco ISD track meet, Anthony has been housed in the Collin County prison.
Following a verbal altercation, Anthony allegedly took out a knife and stabbed Metcalf once in the chest, according to witness accounts. Anthony was brought into arrest after cooperating.
With the responding police. Anthony allegedly questioned the officer in the police car about Metcalf’s safety and if what he did qualified as self-defense.
